Bishopsthorpe [sic], the palace of the Archbishop of York, visited by the president of the Social Science Congress, 1864. Bishopthorpe Palace in North Yorkshire is the official residence of the Archbishop of York. It was remodelled by Thomas Atkinson between 1763 and 1769. From "Illustrated London News", 1864.
