Light micrograph of acute tubular injury in the tubules of a kidney. The tubules (pink) are thinner than normal and are dilated with more space in their lumens (centres). There are also cytoplasmic vacuolations (small white spots inside pink areas). The tubular cells??nuclei are the round blue circles. Haematoxylin and eosin stained tissue section. Magnification: 400x when printed at 10cm.
