Gallbladder adenocarcinoma, light micrograph. Gallbladder cancer is an uncommon cancer, but very aggressive, with an overall 5-year survival rate of less than 10%. Gallbladder adenocarcinoma arises from the gallbladder epithelium and is composed of tubules lined by cuboidal to columnar cells that invade the muscular layer.
