The destruction of Chaldean settlements on the Elamite shore of the Persian Gulf by Sennacherib in 694 BC. He transported his troops across the head of the Gulf in ships built on the Tigris and manned with sailors from Phoenicia and Cyprus. Sennacherib, king of Assyria, 705 - 681 BC.
