The Barbary nut (Moraea sisyrinchium (syn. Gynandriris sisyrinchium) is a species of flowering plant, a dwarf iris, in the genus Moraea, it is native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean region. The purple-blue flowers bloom for an entire month during spring with individual flowers only lasting a day or less. Photographed in Andalucia, Spain, in March.
