Lesion on the eyelid of a patient with conjunctival rhinosporidiosis. This is an infection with the parasitic eukaryote Rhinosporidium seeberi. It causes soft tissue masses in the mucous membranes, most often the nose and eyes. The dots are the mature sporangia of R. seeberi. Treatment is with surgical excision of the lesion.
