Composite image of the edge-on spiral galaxy NGC 1055 (M95). This galaxy lies about 50 million light years from Earth, in the constellation Cetus. It is approximately 15 percent larger in diameter than the Milky Way. NGC 1055 is a bright infrared and radio radiation source which arises from active star formation. This image is a composite of data from European Southern Observatory(ESO).
