Inside Britain's Atomic Factories -- Many areas of the chemical plant at Windscale are highly active but brief visits can be made for maintenance purposes is protective clothing is worn. The respirator has its own air supply: the hood, overalls and gloves completely cover the body: stout rubber boots protect the feet. Britain now has atomic factories in action in three areas - Springfields, Windscale and Capenhurst. So rigid are the checks constantly made on the health and well-being of the workers that it is reckoned that it is far less dangerous working under these atomic conditions than in many other industries.
