Adventurous Diplomat -- Sir Ralph Stevenson in his office in the Foreign Office, London, today. Sir Ralph Skrine Stevenson, who has had as much adventure while serving Britain abroad as any diploma in ***** Ronald Campbell, who will retire shortly. Educated at Wellington and at University College, Oxford, Sir Ralph entered the Foreign Service in 1919. His first appointment was as private secretary to Lord D'Abernon in Berlin for three years. Later he served in Bulgaria, Denmark and Holland. From 1943 to 1945 he was Ambassador to the Royal Yugoslav Government, then located in Cairo. He moved to Belgrade as Ambassador to the Tito Government, accomplishing the change smoothly. May 2, 1950. (Photo by Reuterphoto).
