Watch the dicky bird He - A New Australian street photographer has two kookaburras, a cockatoo and a parrot as business partners. He is former Polish grocer Hubert Roman car (above) who came to Australia four years ago. He remembered European tourists liked to be photographed in town squares with pigeons eating from their hands or perched on their shoulders. He introduced the idea to Australia with a white Major Mitchell cockatoo. Roman was given permission to add two kookaburras bred in captivity. His birds enjoy travelling with him in a small car. They are fed mice and snake. US Ambassador Jarman, driving through Canberra, thrust his head from the window of his limousine and asked to be photographed with the kookaburras as a souvenir of his term in Australia. July 12, 1953.
