Part-owner of Australia's champion pacer Ribands - Frank Kelloway, said to as he would not even entertain the idea of selling the horse for ?20,000. Mr. Kelloway was commenting on a report that a syndicate of four Sydney sportsmen would offer ?20,000 this week for Ribands. Ribands, a five-year-old stallion, is owner in partnership by Mr. Kelloway and his wife. "The horse is not for sale at any price. My wife and I look on him as more than just a pacing champion," said Mr. Kelloway. "Unfortunately, we have no children, and we regard Ribands just as another family would regard their son or daughter," he added. March 9, 1953.
