Big Crowd at Wandsworth as Haigh is Executed -- The big crowd pressing forward to read the notices of Haigh's death posted at the doors of Wandsworth Prison after the execution had been carried out this morning. A crowd of about 500 people, many of them women, was gathered outside Wandsworth Prison. London this morning (Wednesday) as John George Haigh, 39, was executed.
