At Queen's Square, train-travellers leaving t St. James Station and passengers leaving a continuous stream of buses packed the crossing during the peak rush. The 5748 who surged from the station and bus stop crossed onto the footpath behind St. James Church. In the same half hour, 2241 crossed the top of King St. to the northern side. Thousands of others continued down King St. on the southern side. These figures support claims that the tunnel is being built in the wrong place. Mr. Murray Robson, MLA, said today, ''While I agree that the present tunnel is needed to cope with people using the Domain and other places nearby, an underground tunnel should be built at Queen's Square to protect pedestrians, who are now forced to dodge cars."
