In the depths of dog-legged Underwood St. which links Dalley St. with Pitt St., an interesting building shows its age and some of its past. Inspection from the street discloses that Nock and Kirby once had possession, but very much earlier the building was used as Ebsworth's wool store. It is of great interest to speculate that from this building ?a jetty ran out nearly into the middle of what is now Pitt St.¡², and that a wall of James Under?wood's dock stood close to the wool store. "The first colonial ship . . King George¡² was built and launched by Underwood from this dock. July 16, 1954.
