The Belfast Riots -- A baton charge at Templemore Avenue, Newtownards Road East, Belfast. It will be seen that peaceful citizens were passed by the police in pursuit of the disturbers. Two people were killed and many injured during the riots. The cause of the outbreak was owing to the police enforcing a ban on a procession of relief-work strikers who intended to carry out a mass demonstration of 80,000 to march to the Belfast workhouse.
