Hoverfly (Eupeodes luniger). It is often found in a wide variety of habitats from woodland clearings, scrub to dune grasslands. The flight period of this fly is from April to November. Adults feed on a wide range of flowers, particularly umbellifers. The larvae feed on aphids. It is found across the Palearctic ecozone. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in April.
