Harlequin ladybird (Harmonia axyridis). This is one of the most variable ladybirds with a wide range of colour forms. It is an invasive species from Asia that is thought to compete with native species of ladybirds for food. It is known to overwinter in buildings and has spread across the world as a result of human mediated processes. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in May.
