Municipality of L鰓enberger Land; Liebenberg Castle: historic agricultural machine (threshing machine); painted in pink; in open air museum of second court; also called Manor court or museum court; Dating back to 1267; the manor house of Liebenberg Castle was built 1743 onwards and extended in style of historism; in 1875 and 1906. Since 1867; the castle was in possession of the Counts of Eulenburg. The castle became famous during the Harden Eulenburg affair (1907 - 1909); initiated by journalist Maximilian Harden against Philipp F黵st zu Eulenburg und Hertefeld. During time of Third Reich; Hermann G鰎ing was here for hunting. Most important were castle owners Libertas Schulze-Boysen (1913 - 1942) and Harro Schulze-Boysen (1909 - 1942); married since 1936; leading members of the Anti-Nazi resistence movment "Rote Kapelle" ("Red Orchestra") and executed by the Nazi regime. In time of GDR; Liebenberg Manor and castle went into possession of ruling party SED (Sozialistische Einheitspartei Deutschlands). In 2009; Hotel Schloss & Gut Liebenberg was opened.
