Municipality Joachimsthal (Schorfheide): copper statue of Joachim Frederick; prince-elector of the Margraviate of Brandenburg (1546 - 1608); with piece of glass in his fingers; on top of Prince-Elector fountain (German: Kurf黵stenbrunnen); built 2006 by artist Eckhard Herrmann. The statue is only 1;10 m high; while the fountain reaches a total of 3;30 m. The octagonal fountain is also decorated with small plastics (snake; slug; mouse; frog). In his right hand; the Elector of Brandenburg holds a city map of Joachimsthal. Joachim Frederick ordered to built a glass manufactory near Grimnitz Castle; in 1601 and founded the new city of Joachimsthal.
