He would then turn these into landscapes and other subjects. He has used a common picture format of the time for this scene, showing two hills overlapping in the centre with a distant view beyond. Alexander Cozens was very influential due to the drawing manuals he published. He was Drawing Master at Eton College, near Windsor, and taught many young gentlemen.
