It was his great admirer and patron, the music publisher Mitrofan Belayev, who commissioned Repin\'s portrait of Glazunov. The painter, who frequents the evenings of the ???elayev Circle?? knows the musician well, of whom he makes several drawn portraits. A fervent lover of Repin, Glazunov used, in his first masterpiece in 1885, the symphonic poem Stenka Razine, a famous traditional song evoking hauls.
