Light micrograph of a stromal nodule in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). In BPH, the prostate becomes enlarged due to the formation of many nodules. This can cause symptoms such as frequent or difficult urination. Microscopically, some of the nodules of BPH are made up of stromal cells (thin blue and elongated) admixed with small blood vessels (darker pink-purple).
