By W. R. Lethaby; 1902; this is his last and greatest building; a richly symbolic church imbued with primeval sacredness. The central tower with cedar tiles and thatched roof; impressive and well-composed; are respectful of the local vernacular as advocated by the Arts and Crafts movement. The astounding interior is vaulted; and supported by cruck-like concrete arches. The tapestry is by Burne-Jones; the glass by Whall; and the carved wildflower panels on the choir stall are by George Jack; who taught carving at the RCA.
