This is a large and interesting church with a Norman chancel arch and a tower begun in the 12th century and finished in the 14th. The tower stands in an unusual position at the E. end of the S. aisle. The nave arcades are very interesting - showing a transition from round to quatrefoil piers; and from scalloped to stiff leaf capitals. In the N. transept is a very good Arts and Crafts oak traceried window; and in the S. aisle a magnificent highly coloured tomb to Sir Anthony Irby; 1623; and his wife Alice; 1625; with their five children as weepers below.
