MEIPING VASE WITH DRAGONS IN CLOUDS.
Origin: China.
Porcelain painted with blue and copper red under a transparent glaze. Background with light turquoise green glaze.
The vase in meiping shape with wide neck and slightly flared mouth; on a high recessed
base ring. The revolving representation shows a rising and a sinking dragon around a
flaming pearl between stylized clouds. The foot ring is decorated with spiral waves with
foaming spray. Beneath the mouth a double ring in underglaze blue.
Measurement: H.32.5cm ?18cm.
Mark: Underneath turquoise green glazed. In underderglaze blue a six part Jiaqing-Marke; but probably later.


Provenance:
According to owner from a Swiss private collection. Underneath two collection labels made of paper; one with the inscription: "Jan von Dyk 59"; the other: "Collection ??; B 1408 8/31".
