Gallery: wine label for Casanuova di Nittardi wine; realized 1993 by A. R. Penck; Tenuta Nittardi dates back to a defense tower; first mentioned in 1183 and called "Nectar Dei" ("Nectar of God"). In 16th century; Michelangelo Buonarotti (1475 - 1564) owned this wine estate. In 1549; while painting the Sixtine Chapel in the Vaticane; he wrote to nephew Leonardo: "I'd prefer two casks of wine rather than eight shirts."
