The body of the vessel is vertically grooved. On the flat top there is a medallion pressed with a mould. It depicts the sea monster Scylla. She is clothed with a belted chiton; has both arms angled to the side and her hands directed to her shoulder. The head with hair falling to the sides is shown in frontal view. To the sides; a wolf or dog front body emerges from her body; which once tore the sailors from their ships and devoured them. Left beside the head of the Scylla possibly a rest of the tail fluke is indicated. The medallion is surrounded by five stamped palmettes with a long lancet leaf; one is located between the handle and spout. Due to its flat shape and the vessel; which is covered with black luster down to the underside of the foot; it is an early Guttus.
