Slender and elongated; of great elegance; with a sweeping base and lavish decoration of the case with gilded tendrils; this harpsichord - commissioned by a high church dignitary - is an important work of art of the Italian High Baroque. In typical Italian harpsichord construction; the instrument; which is located in the outer protective case; is very light and thin-walled for sound reasons - its side walls are only 5 millimeters thick.
