Spain; city of M醠aga: detail of Puente de Santo Domingo (Santo Domingo Bridge); popular known as Puente de los Alemanes (Bridge of the Germans; German`s Bridge); inaugurated 1909; The pedestrian bridge; a truss bridge of steel; across river Guadalmedina in the historic city centre of Malaga was donated by the German government. It was a gift to honor those 12 people from Malaga who lost their lives in December 1900 during the rescue of shipwrecked German frigate "SMS Gneisenau" (40 people died). In 1907; a catastrophe washed away nearly all the bridges across Guadalmedina in Malaga. So; Germany offered this new bridge. The steel bridge was moved in 1992 to built further on an angle of 90 degrees with regard to Santo Domingo Church.
