Algarve; city of Faro: bust of Jo鉶 de Deus de Nogueira Ramos (1830 - 1896); built by sculptor by Tom醩 Ramos; inaugurated 8th of March 1930; Jo鉶 de Deus de Nogueira Ramos; known as Jo鉶 de Deus was a Portuguese poet and editor; famous for his didactic book Cartilha Maternal (1876) on Portuguese language used in the 19th and 20th centuries across Portugal. He was born in Bartolomeu de Messines (Algarve province) and studied at the catholic church seminar of Faro.
