The Cortile della Pigna (Cour de la Pgne) and the Braccio Nuovo (new Wing) of the Vatican Museums.New 19th century building (68 m long); considered today one of the most important pieces of neoclassical architecture un Rome; runs between galleries of the Chiaramonti Museum and of the Vatican Apostolic Library. Pope Pius VII (1800-1823) employed the Roman architect Raffaelle Stern to build what is now called the Braccio Nuovo of the Chiaramonti Museum.The work was continued by Pasquale Belli until the opening in 1822.Vatican Museums.
