Statue of Laocoon and His Sons; also called the Laocoon Group (Laokoon). The figures are near life-size and the group is a little over 2聽m in height; showing the Trojan priest Laocoon and his sons Antiphantes and Thymbraeus being attacked by sea serpents. There has been much debate over the date of the statue; which would seem to have been made around 40-30 B.C.inv. 1059Vatican Museums (Pio Clementino Museum - Octagonal Courtyard) 2021.
