Acne keloidalis nuchae (AKN) on a patient's scalp after treatment with intralesional injections of the anti-inflammatory steroid triamcinolone acetonide. AKN is a type of folliculitis, the inflammation of hair follicles, that affects the scalp and neck. The inflammation can result in pustules and lead to scaring and hairloss. Intralesional injections deliver higher concentrations of the drug than topical applications. The cause is not known.
