Scotland; Aberdeenshire; Ballater; village of Crathie: Royal Lochnager Distillery; established 1845 by John Begg; The famous whisky distillery is located 2 km away from Balmoral Castle. Nearby mountain Lochnager (1155 m) in the Cairngorms lended its name (Gaelic: Beinn Ch靜chan = "mountain of breasts"). It became a royal court deliverer soon after Queen Victorias first visit to the distillery; in 1848. Today; the production volume is 450 000 liters per year. Most regular is the 12-years-old whisky. But there are also "Selected Reserves"; "Rare Malt Editions" and the "Distillery Edition".
