Scotland; city of Aberdeen; city quarter of Footdee (also called "Fittie"): pittoresque historic village cottages with gardens; The old fishing village of Footdee (corruption of St Fittick) dates back at least to 1398. The actual village is a planned one and was constructed 1809 by city architect John Smith; nickname "Tudor Johnny". Further buildings were realized 1870 by William Smith; son of John Smith and also architect of Balmoral Castle.
