Scotland; city of Aberdeen; University of Aberdeen; King`s College: statue (sculpture) "Youth with Split Apple"; realized 2005 by sculptor Kenny Hunter (born 1962); in front of New King`s (end of building in 1913); Historic nucleus of University of Aberdeen is King`s College; founded 1495 by the bishop of Aberdeen; William Elphinstone (1431 - 1514). Shortly before; he got a papal bull of Pope Alexander VI (Borgia) allowing the foundation of the university. Elphinstone is commemorated outside the King`s College chapel with the Elphinstone monument; realized in bronze and marble by architect and sculptor Henry Wilson (1864 - 1934) 1914 - 1931 (other sources: 1912 - 1926) and placed outside the chapel; in 1946.
