Demetre H. Chiparus - and the Spirit of Art Nouveau

Living in Paris in the Golden Twenties; next to the movements in the
fine arts and a new; modern image of women as Gar鏾nne; Demetre Chiparus
was influenced by the glamarous revues as they were displayed in the
Folies B鑢gere or in the Moulin Rouge. Famous male and female dancers
like Isadora Duncan and the Dolly Sisters were guests here. Their exotic
costumes and dance moves inspired Chiparus' fragile and sumptuous
chryselephantine figures.
