Arthur Waagen was a German-born artist who lived and worked in Paris. He was born in 1833 in the Prussian town of Memel; which today belongs to Lithuania. From the earliest years he was drawn to Paris; where he quickly became known as a sculptor of animal representations and oriental scenes. As of 1861; Waagen repeatedly exhibited his work
successfully at the Paris Salon.Art trade; Van Ham.
