PORCELAIN COFFEE POT FROM THE BREAKFAST SERVICE OF MARIA-JOSEPHA OF SAXONY AND POLAND (1699-1757)
Meissen. Ca. 1738. Model J.J. Kaendler; May 1738

Porcelain; in parts decorated in gold and purple. Vermeil mounting. On round base baluster-shaped body with slightly distinct shoulder. The scroll handle made from branches and with bow ornament. On both sides of the body fine festoons made from applied blossoms and leaves. The lid hinged by mounting with corresponding relief decor.
On the inside of the lid gold plating that is characteristic of the service with fine
purple landscape in round reserve. Height 22cm.
Swords mark. Condition A/B.

According to current research opinion; this service was not started for Princess
Wilhelmine of Prussia; but for Maria Josepha of Saxony-Poland (1699-1757) in May 1738 by
Johann Joachim Kaendler.

mit Vorerw鋒nten Blumen und 膕tgen; sammbt dem darzu geh鰎igen Deckel; Wornach die andern
