PAIR OF BEGONIA SHAPED VASES WITH HANDLES.
Origin: China.
Dynasty: Qing dynasty.
Date: Qianlong period (1735-1796).
Technique: Thin walled porcelain painted in underglaze blue and Kanton enamel.
Description: Begonia shaped vase with two stylized dragon handles. Front and back each with garden
scene in a medallion surrounded with a dense flower and scroll pattern in underglaze blue.
At the sides and beneath the lips fine gold scrolls. At the neck two medallions with
flowering shrubs at rocks.
Measurement: H.29cm.
Condition A/B. At the lip of one vase a minute chip; the other with a hairline crack. Painting partly rubbed.
