Federico ZERI (12 August 1921 - 5 October 1998) academician; scholar and art critic; profound connoisseur of Italian art was in charge of organizing various public and private collections; especially abroad: in the United Kingdom and the United States. For his experience and sensitivity accompanied by an always disenchanted approach to the works; he found himself more than once to expose fakes; including the famous "Livorno heads" erroneously attributed to Amedeo Modigliani in 1984.
