HISTORY OF PHOTOGRAPHY Italian commission visiting the community of emigrants in Philadelphia. Together with the Government Inspectors of Emigration in top hat and tailcoat; a smiling woman accompanies two girls; emblematically dressed in the colors of their respective flags; the character of the clothes is also emblematic: the "Stars & Stripes" girl wears a pretty tailored model; complete with a hat on the theme; the "Tricolor" girl wears her usual miserable dress with a cap; on which the flag was simply wrapped. Neither seems comfortable in the role (see back in # 43144). Shot by photographer Emma Stephanson; photo postcard Stephanson Studio; Philadelphia (PA); around 1910.
