The Doric temple in the archaeological site of Segesta. Built around 420 BC by an Athenian architect. The temple has six by fourteen columns on a base measuring 21 by 56 meters. (Greek civilization) - Segesta (Segeste) was one of the major cities of the Elymians; one of the three indigenous peoples of Sicily. The hellenization of Segesta happened very early. Segesta is located in the northwestern part of Sicily in Italy; near the modern commune of Calatafimi-Segesta. The ruins of the city are located on the Monte Barbaro.Sicily; Italy.(2020)
