Poland; city of Wroclaw: Ispica ("the needle"; "the spire"); built 1948; The metal construction was built 1948 by Stanislaw Hempel. Originally 106 m high; it was reduced to 90 m 1964 and restored in 2016. It was built for the so called "exhibition of the rewon territories" which happened from 21st of July to 31st of October; 1948; in the Centennial Hall which was built right across; in 1913; on the Wroclaw (Breslau) fair grounds). 400 participants from 46 countries took part; including writers; artists and scientists Bertold Brecht; Anna Seghers; Pablo Picasso; Irene Joliot-Curie; Jorge Amado and Michail Szolochov.
