Calcium deposit under the skin of a young female patient. Calcinosis cutis is the formation of calcium deposit in the skin. It is most often caused by trauma to the area, but may be the result of an infection or underlying disease. Treatment is of the underlying cause. Surgical removal may stimulate further calcification.
