M.P. Becomes Traffic Controller To Demonstrate Safer Crossings for Children. Mr. Harmer Nicholls, Conservative member of Parliament for Peterborough, England, acting as traffic controller at Eye, near Peterborough, yesterday. Previously traffic controllers at vital crossings used by children have worn varied clothing and carried boards inscribed "Stop Children Crossing". Now the words appear on the back of the white overalls, which Mr. Nicholls claims would be an excellent safety measure as motorists would become used to the white figure and respect them as a safety-first force.
