For her busy day today which included the investiture at Government House, a visit to Legacy House, Randwick and the surf carnival the Queen chose a dress of the utmost simplicity. The dress was sleeveless and had a frilled collar with bands which matched numerous tuckings on the skirt. The skirt was cut on slightly gathered lines. With it she wore a triple - strand necklet and white open-toed, sling-back shoes. Her tiny hat of matching yellow feathers was close-fitting and slightly side-swept. February 6, 1954.
