Health in a U.S. City: A Serum and Vaccine Farm Injection Guards Against Rabies -- At one of the public health agencies maintained by the New York City Department of Health an American citizen of Spanish descent is getting an injection, given once a day for 14 days, to-safe guard the patient against the development of rabies, a disease which is always fatal. Vaccine used for the patient was manufactured in large quantities by a serum and vaccine farm which the city's Department of Health maintains. All preventive agents produced there are designed for widespread distribution among the people of New York City, where preventable epidemics are almost unknown and many infectious diseases are rarities.
