Viola Player, Later conductor concerts and Ballet Russe. Private in French Infantry, 1914-16. Conductor, Metropolitan Opera Company, New York City, 1971-19, Boston Symphony Orchestra, 1919-24; with William Mengelberg at the Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam, 10 years: Conductor Paris Symphony Orchestra, 1930; Also (5 months each year) conductor San Francisco Symphony Orchestra-1930.
