'Flying Saucer' Is A Reality -- From the world of fantasy comes this 'Flying Sacer' and the bizarre hat worn by 19-year-old Arthur Sanger, dental mechanic of Southampton. The flying model ' saucer ' is the latest of 200 miniature planes build by Arthur. It took him three months to build, is powered by a Jeter rocket motor, and files for thirty seconds at heights up to 100 feet. The ' Saucer ' has four radders and the engine is mounted at the leading edge. Arthur, a member of the Southampton Model Aeroplane Club, already has plans for a bigger and boozer flying ' saucer '. He has carried out a number of experiments with his latest model, and has achieved flights of a minute. November 21, 1950. (Photo by Reuterphoto).
